The Internet has constantly developed over the past years and is nowadays no longer exclusively used for information gathering. Numerous additional applications have come into use, supporting the most varied business processes. Probably the best-known Internet application is the online shop, in which individual as well as industrial customers are offered products and services for rent or sale. UNIORG PHP Shop offers an online shop solution optimally adapted to SAP software; it is technologically mature, economical (open source) and fits into a modern, service-oriented system landscape (Enterprise SOA). As a component of the UNIORG PHP platform, the shop can be integrated into the UNIORG PHP Portal and may be supplemented with additional applications such as an order tracking module. UNIORG Shop is thus suited to all business cases/processes in which products are regularly selected and orders initiated, whether by customers, suppliers or within one's own company.

All application components represented in the following graph (application integration) are also available as Web Dynpro development and can thus be represented in SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Regardless of the choice of platform, all options providing the user easy article selection, such as shopping cart, full-text search or automatic takeover of categories, are available. Moreover, SAP materials master data are periodically transferred to the shop data bank, and completed orders are either optionally either booked directly as sales orders or submitted in advance of a manual audit.

Because of short project durations and low operating costs, the UNIORG online shop offers economic advantages for all business cases in which products are regularly selected and orders initiated, whether by customers, suppliers or within one's own company. The shop, based on the UNIORG PHP platform, requires no additional licenses. Operating costs for the shop are also quite moderate through the use of standard software.
