Unicode conversion with UNIORG

According to SAP, all SAP applications coming onto the market after 2007 can only be installed in the Unicode variant. What constitutes an advantage for many companies can entail a considerable conversion effort in the short term. This applies in particular to companies which to that point used a so-called MDMP system (Multi-Display, Multi-Processing-Codepages). For a non-Unicode capable system, this was until now the only option to reproduce different character sets in an SAP system in which there is dynamic switching between the individual character sets depending on the logon language.

But also for companies which up to now haven't used MDMP, the necessity of converting to UNICODE represents somewhat of a challenge, which not only requires additional work for the purely technical upgrade but also a certain degree of experience.

  • Check and, if applicable, adaptation of your in-house developments (reports, modifications, etc.) for Unicode-conforming syntax
  • Adaptation of relevant interfaces and sub-systems
  • Execution of the Unicode conversion
  • Conversion of the MDMP system, including the most necessary reworks
